Meeting your need protocol / Micro-grant / Technical Assistance

Who can apply for micro-grant?
Any AHF’s Affiliated organization with a 501(c) (3) status that meets ALL of the following criteria:
- Your organization is affiliated with the American Haitian federation
- Your organization is delivering services in AHF’s adopted region in Haiti.
- Your organization’s annual budget is at least $10,000
- Your organization pays the annual fee ($250.00 / year)
- You organization has a nonprofit status for more than 2 year(s) before joining the Federation
- You organization is registered with the State and the Federal Government
Who can apply for technical assistance?
Any AHF’s Affiliated organization with or without a 501(c) (3) status that meets ALL of the following criteria:
- Your organization is affiliated with the American Haitian federation
- Your organization is delivering services in AHF’s adopted region in Haiti.
- Your organization’s annual budget is at least $10,000
- Your organization pays the annual fee ($250.00 / year)
- You organization has or hasn’t a nonprofit status
- You organization is or is not registered with the State and the Federal Government
How much will the mini project cost?
AHF will contribute half of the project cost or $1000.00 whichever is smaller. If the project’s value exceeds $2000, the affiliated organization will need to generate funding from local foundations and corporations. The federation will assist any organization whishing to look for external funding” including all training, materials and technical assistance”.

Applications will be available at the office and are accepted year round. Fill out the application and organizational assessment form and return to:

Response timeline
Applicants will be notified no later than a month after applications are submitted whether they have been selected or not. A weekend orientation will take place for those who will receive grant money.
If selected, what will be my responsibilities?
Affiliates will be expected to attend an orientation weekend, produce a business plan for their organization and the project, develop a timeline, and produce a financial statement of their organization. At the end of the project, the director of the project will submit a full report to the American Haitian Federation
How will organizations be selected?
Organizations will be selected based on their qualifications, mission, and goals / vision and will represent AHF diversity in terms of geographic location, types of services, clientele, etc. Candidates may also be interviewed.
